Do you not think that if I said to you "well done your posts are really nice and it seems youy may indeed be a well informed professional" that it would be rather patronising - especially as I may - for all you know - be an ill informed, inexperienced troll?

    Casy:

Some further links which may be of interest

    Teacher toolbox

    Dweck on

Is Math a Gift? Beliefs that put females at risk.

Nice links.  For people who know a little about Dweck and have been reading this thread, here's a link to Barry Hymer doing the kind of stuff he did at our INSET.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXMg9ui75kQ

The inset which assumed were were all the kinds of teacher he refers to here and gave us no opportunity to suggest otherwise. Grrr

He points out that ofsted now talk the talk.  Wish they walked the walk.

I think people reading this thread if they are still here would have some difficulty learning about Dweck which is a great shame; she has been rather lost in - whatever this thread is - words fail me.

(As a matter of interest Becka which browser are you using? None of your links show as links - well not to me anyway. Sorry for slightly off topic but am curious having experimented with different browsers today for various sites.)

    autismuk:

What I find fascinating is your total refusal to even consider that it might be you ; that it might be your attitude, your posting style and content.

It requires quite gloriously high levels of self delusion.

Yep, if it was just me saying your ideas are 'sh1te' then fair enough ; but virtually every poster thinks your ideas are sh1te (or trivial).

Autismuk, darling, what a joy to see you here.

Now.  Where were we.  Oh yes, I was chatting the other week with the right honerable member for Cardiff West, aka the shadow minister for schools, about the issues associated with teachers providing high quality education.  As well as discussing the barriers which prevent high quality education, we talked about some of the newer media which facilitate it, such as Teachers TV and discussion forums.

Of course Gove has shut down the former.  It was interesting to discuss (as is, of course being discussed on opinion) that there appears to be a co-ordinated conservative strategy to dominate discussion forums and social media with right wing dogma and to crush both discussions and contributors who may pose a threat to tory views and so to disable the latter too.

Mr Brennan did ask me to email him with more information about this.

I haven't yet, but if you were to continue here on this thread you would make it ever so easy for me to do.

oh dear.  will the seriously nasty baddies descend now?

    Firefox.

Explorer does links but keeps crashing.

    Google won't format.

    What a pain.

In my experience IE is the only browser which copes with links here. Not my preferred choice though.

Chrome on this site complete disaster for formatting.

We've lost Carol again - sorry.

    ?

The comment in your bar was about me by the way - you maybe gathered.

I've acted as a facilitor a bit on other forums, working to edge coversations deeper into the underlying issues.  But usually I just take part.  Dunno if I'll stick around here though.  It seems I've annoyed the mob so it might be wisest to scarper.

Doesn't look like it.   I don't mind firing a few jibes in your direction if you are feeling overlooked.

You have previously facilitated Casy on the ATM forum becks.   I recently saw you operating on MathsMike on the NCETM portal too although I'm not sure he even noticed.

A few jibes are great, but try and time them for when the conversation needs livening up, rather than when it's already completely mental.
