Becka I just meant that for a thread supposedly about Carol Dweck, so much - in fact most of this thread isn't! Forums fascinate me. One has to be so careful how one comes across - so very very easy to get it wrong.

I recently saw you operating on MathsMike on the NCETM portal too although I'm not sure he even noticed.

I think Maths_Mike NCETM and Maths_Mike TES are two different people?

We shall have to ask him.   I always assumed they were one and the same.

SmileSometimes everything you do is wrong.  I'm okay with that.  It just takes a while to settle.  I could, like, beat myself soundly with a cat-o-nine-tails for all my failings, but I've got a sore wrist so I can't be bothered.

Instead I just think - why are people kicking off here when they don't elsewhere and gradually puzzle my way round things.  Like here there were loads of problems in opinion because my posts weren't going live straight away.  So I answered people's questions but they missed my replied and they bawled me out for not replying and I didn't know why so I thought they were trolls when they weren't.

And PMming was a nighmare too - that's so important for sorting out issues and maintaining the coherency of the flow of threads in most forums

Having a thread which is 'entirely about Carol Dweck' is pretty much impossible because you can't do her as an abstract idea.  It's best to talk about real, relevent experience.  I've been trying to do that but I've had to talk around the houses to help people (including me) understand what I mean.

    Nice to meet you Casy.

Oh yes, I was chatting the other week with the right honerable member for Cardiff West, aka the shadow minister for schools, about the issues associated with teachers providing high quality education.

Same things. Over and over again. Your MP friend (MPs are good at tolerating loonies). Your supposedly fabulous results in Cumbria. What a wonderful facilitator you are.

    weebecka:
It was interesting to discuss (as is, of course being discussed on opinion) that there appears to be a co-ordinated conservative strategy to dominate discussion forums and social media with right wing dogma and to crush both discussions and contributors who may pose a threat to tory views and so to disable the latter too.

What a load of old "boll ox" ?

I suspect I know what discussion you are referring to, ("Extreme Right Wingers on this Forum") and no-one, seems to think this conspiracy exists. The only hint of such is the original poster, who is pretty old school left, who is concerned about the number of 'extreme right posters', something no-one else can apparently see.

Oddly we seem to be getting along fine despite occasional heated disagreement ; what's the difference, oh yes, no f**king useless "facilitator".

I presume this is some kind of sad attempt to lump you in with that.

Well, when your views and ideas are criticised by extreme right wingers like airy and seren_dipity I can understand how you think it might have something to do with politics.

Obviously their devotion to Mrs Thatcher is responsible for it all. Many times has airy salivated over her signed photograph of Mrs Thatcher. I know seren keeps a copy of Mrs Thatchers autobiography by her bed to keep her warm at nights*, and to help her to go to bed in a happy frame of mind.

In fact, of the people who are , shall we say, unimpressed by you, I think I'm the only one who is an obvious Tory, and possibly the only Tory at all.

What would be the point of this conspiracy anyway ? Who cares whether the forum has right wing views, or left wing views for that matter ?

    weebecka:
Mr Brennan did ask me to email him with more information about this.

I wonder if he would if he was aware no poster on TES thought you represented teachers at all ; in fact,

I would hazard a guess that many of them, possibly all of them, would be horrified that someone like you represented them to MPs.

    weebecka:
I haven't yet, but if you were to continue here on this thread you would make it ever so easy for me to do.

Actually, I deliberately posted nothing on this thread until it was well into the 200s of post.

You've pi55ed people off on this thread entirely on your own.

Go ahead. Give him my email address if you like. I'll point him to the threads, he can see what other teachers think of you. I'll tell him not to read my posts ; just read the ones where you insulted and patronised teachers with years of experience.

I doubt if your MP pal is dense enough to see this as some kind of mad conspiracy. If only because any adult knows that mad conspiracies (known as "Grand Conspiracy Theories" generally) don't exist. It's the kind of loony nonsense people grow out of when they leave university.

(*probably by setting fire to it)

Yes, good question. What do you think the answer is ?

    weebecka:
Like here there were loads of problems in opinion because my posts weren't going live straight away.

Had little or no effect ; that's just an excuse.

    weebecka:

This is simply not true ; you didn't reply. You continually ignore the issues your 'ideas' bring up.

For example, your 'send out the most stressed' idea was criticised by everyone as unworkable, except in a few well behaved classes.

It seems I've annoyed the mob

This "mob" is a fairly wide spectrum of professionals and it would be my assertion that it is your behaviour and tone that has caused offence to many on here.

I have discussed and been helped by many wonderful people on this forum (many of the them the very same ones who seem to have infuriated and alienated) and I have to say that as a fairly laid back, amenable and sociable person, I have never ever so disliked anyone as much as I do yourself on the ether of the internet.

I almost feel bad that I have come to dislike you and your internet persona as it is just not my disposition to dislike others, let alone my fellow professionals.

In an industry where communication is key, along with a huge dose of compassion and empathy, I do feel the persona you projsct on this forum is astonishingly poor (I really could say worse!). Additional to that is your own lack of self awareness and appreciation.

In this season of goodwill, I think I'll refrain from being too harsh, but would suggest that you might want to reconsider your internet persona as well as your posting tone if you are to continue posting on this forum.

I'd like to apologise sincerely that I haven't been able to engage with your points on Carol Dweck and growth mindsets sufficiently well MathsMA.

This thread has been quite a handful at times and I have not responded to individuals with replies which reach my usual standard of empathy.

Employing the spirit of goodwill, could I ask you to repeat the points on Carol Dweck and growth mindsets you have made which you feel I have not sufficiently recognised in my responses?
