I don't have a problem with Weebecka. I don't understand why people are trying to catch her out. These are her experiences. Take them or leave them.

I am really uncomfortable about the attacks on weebecka. I think they are quite nasty and now those attacks  go over 3 threads.

I like her open posting manner and have done from the start. I'd rather people have enthusiasm for their jobs than cynicism.I get worn down by people who moan all the time.

She doesn't have an open posting manner. You like her because Seren and Lily have argued with her. Just out of interest, how many threads have you dragged your little spat with Lily over? More than three, I suspect.

    In what way airy?

Are you on about the why am I here issue?

I've told you again and again I'm a habitual and prolific contributor to discussion forums.  I enjoy it.  I learn from it.  I've got a wide range of skills now which I deliberately use to make conversations richer, more coherent and more effective in answering questions.

This is really easy to see, for example here:

    https://www.ncetm.org.uk/community/thread/56000

I've also done quite a bit of international work and have been invited to write and present on discussion forums, which I've always been completely open about, for example here:

    http://community.tes.co.uk/forums/t/447566.aspx

    see post 4.

I did mention that I would be at ATM conference in the thread but DM immediately bounced back not to talk about it so I didn't talk about it any further.  It wasn't relevant anyway because that's about maths discussions.

I'm here to talk about education.

In the background I think and write about the way understanding is created on discussion forums and how the way the forum is set up influences that.  And I write and present to people who don't understand discussion forums to help them begin to engage with them.

    weebecka:
The final year results at Ehenside were shocking because it was an extreme cohort which had been unteachable right from the beginning of primary school.

We only have your word for it that the 2007 cohort was "unteachable".   Others have pointed out you seem to have little idea what that really means.   The data simply does not support your contention that you transformed the school by your inspirational teaching and leadership of one colleague.

2007 14 out of 75 students attained 5 A* to C including maths and english

2006 13 out of 72 students attained 5 A* to C including maths and english

2005 11 out of 70 students attained 5 A* to C including maths and english

Anyway, you are correct, this must be dull as dishwater for the casual reader so I shall bow out here.

Not being a regular poster these days, and just happening on this thread, I have to say that I kow nothing of your previous postings. What smacks me in the face with your postings is the I I I attitude you have. I do this, I do that, since I did x then x happened. I am this, I am that. There does not seem to be anything that points to team work, 'the department', 'we did x'. 'look at me on here and there to see what a wonderful practitioner I am' 'look how much you will learn from me'. As a Mathematics teacher I would be exceptionally demoralised working under you because that is exactly how I would feel... I would be expected to be in awe of you.

I'm afraid I feel your illusions are completely unrealistic and I agree with those that feel you live in an alternative universe. People who blame teachers for everything are those that are responsible for the decline of education. Those that say behaviour is down to everything but the childs choice to behave in such a manner has taken away all responsibility from the child, and the family. Our job will never get any better until we stop and start again with an attitude that says that we will not tolerate this behaviour any more. Punative is not what I am suggesting, nor exclusions etc etc. I am for a fair and mixed set of approaches that has one clear message.... no matter who you are, what your circumstances are, YOU are responsible for the way you behave.

crikey, how did I ever manage to turn around challenging failing schools without her insight? I must have been so flukily lucky so far.

     Ah moonpenny, come to pour some oil! Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

I don't understand why people are trying to catch her out. These are her experiences. Take them or leave them.

This is not just an account of her experiences.  She is putting herself up as some kind of expert and although many experienced teachers are disagreeing with her – on this and her original thread - she is refusing to take any of their objections on board.

Just as a point of information, apart from challenging her ludicrous assertion of post 79 in tones even someone pretending to be nice so people will like her (you) could not possibly find uncivil, and post 135 in which I ask for a reply to a question I asked 30 posts previously as it was directly relevant to the thread title, I haven’t directly addressed weebecka at all, having found it a waste of time in the other identithread.

I'd rather people have enthusiasm for their jobs than cynicism.I get worn down by people who moan all the time.

Leaving aside the usual hilarious lack of self-awareness (have you posted anything for months that wasn't a moan about other posters?), enthusiasm based on false information and invalid perceptions is a Fool’s Paradise full of grinning, appeased, status-quo-affirming idiots.  So just right for you.
