Wonderful. All we need now is a visit from bgy1mm and the three amigos can discuss this till the cows come home.

Two people who have never taught maths before and another who was ripped apart by ofsted for being completely out of her depth.

    weebecka:

I was a major consultation on A-level qualifications in December.

Or do you mean you were at a major consultation? The two sentences mean very different things.

    weebecka:
Plenty of non-teachers there - it's not a barrier.  In fact at times it clearly helps the conversations.

I suspect it clearly helps that they cannot spot how much of a fraud you are weebecka. Your theories don't stand up to close scrutiny. Your teaching record is about as reliable as an MP's expenses claim.

Oh happy new year by the way.

    heavens karvol that's slander!

As somone who's received outstanding ratings during external observations in at least two schools, has been specifically complimented as a HOD in an inspection report and has never received any negative feedback whatsoever during external inspection, I do find your comment just a little startling.

Are you another one of these characters who can say what they like on this forum and never gets banned?

That doesn't happen on LinkedIn Sabbir - the forum I recommended you is well managed and everyone is who they say they are.  It helps a lot!

And a very Happy New Year to you too Karvol.

By they way I've found the most fantastic insight into multiplication from a Dutch book.  It give a really good insight into the neglected one-dimensional primitive by using an open number line for multiplication.

Why precisely did you dismiss this methodology so completely?

We come from completely different sides of the teaching divide. I have taught in highly selective schools, whereas you have not. There is no common point of reference.

I am sure you found great insight into mathematics from many Dutch books weebecka, but those insights are second nature to those of us who have actually taught for a while.

The way your teaching credentials seem to dissipate under scrutiny and reform later on in a different guise, lead me to believe that any discussion with you will be ultimately pointless. You have limited knowledge of teaching and it shows.

Oh and by the way it is not slander but libel. If it were untrue, that is, and done with the deliberate purpose of defamation with the knowledge that what was written was a deliberate lie and not an opinion.

Did you actually read the Ofsted report on Ehenside before it closed down?

Which one would that be Karvol?

Do you mean the one where it came out of special measures, which was of course the final external report?

Yes, those of us who were still alive read it.

As we prepared for our wonderfully organised school merger.  I think the key points referred to how important it was that this procedure was properly progressed, raising pretty serious concerns about what was happening to staff.

I can see why you are interested.   He's worth a few quid.   Likes his women to be draped in gold by all accounts.
