More like the child who want to wanted to take A-levels being forced to take KS2 assessments.

oh - btw - i discussed this tony gardiner (heard of him, dear?) a  couple of years ago - we agreed that, whilst there is no formal academic study, all anecdotal evidence suggests that a child who takes maths a levels at a young age either goes to uni too young for their pysche (eg ruth lawrence - who has vowed never to do that with her kids) or they do anything but become mathematicians cos they've been there, done that, and look for a different line of study

Being academically gifted doesn't always go hand in hand with being socially aware.

Do we need examples, or is everybody happy to accept my " theoretical " point of view?

    Certainly have Flora.

Tony is the one who skulks round outside maths conferences without coming in.

I've chatted to him when he's been doing that but he may not remember.

Absolutely, I agree with you and fortunately for me so did my parents and my schools.

In fact my secondary school only let us do 8 GCSEs as they though it was bad for students to be focussing entirely on exams.

    Those were the days eh!

Nobody seems to be aware of your email Bombay Sapphire.  Perhaps you should send it to a few more people at ATM.  Would you like some more addresses?

I'm sorry to hear that florapost.

I hope your dad is well cared for and gets fully better soon.

Patience Weebecka.  Perhaps you are not their only priority.

I doubt that mine is the only e-mail they have received about you.  In fact they won't know which one it is given that Bombaysapphire is not actually my real name.

And it certainly won't be the only email. I've also given my real name.
