So will you be going along to see how tessers are represented?

Wasn't going to.   I have a letter from the ATM here asking for £58 to renew my membership for another 12 months - its very tempting to register my disapproval by declining their kind invitation to renew (with a short letter of explanation).

It costs a packet to go to Conference you see and the quality of the speakers is dubious.

bloody hell that's steep. You'd think at that price they could pay for speakers who've actually got some proper classroom experience Stick out tongue you don't fancy paying £400 to be facilitated then?

If they were paying me £250 per day or so, I might consider it.   I'm the Kate Moss of the mathematics conference scene, I don't get out of bed unless the money is right.

Thank you DM. I understand now. (Slow on the uptake, me)

Would you like there to be a friendly maths staffroom that you can drop into at 24 hours a day? Somewhere where you can get advice, explore you own ideas, help others, sound off or just eavesdrop on interesting conversations? In this session Rebecca Hanson will take you on a tour of the available chat sites and discuss the practicalities and benefits of using them. She might tell a few stories of the things which have happened on them too.

Makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to say the least.

Quite. I don't think anyone would have minded this had weebecka stated her intentions from the outset. Another poster discovered the workshop by chance after weebecka had been posting on the behaviour thread for several days in what can only be described as a patronising, condescending antagonistic style. Noticably different from her previous posting style on the anti ofsted threads.

A cynic might think she was being deliberately provocative to generate some material for her workshop...

Yes, I gave up on that thread eventually. Pity really,  I had previously thought the anti-ofsted stuff was sound, and so I was disappointed.
