I asked for one post I made to be removed, as I made it before my identity was outed and it was indiscreet after it became clear who I was.  I didn't ask for the thread to be removed - not my style, even though I looked a complete t1t in it.

Of course the one who's celebrating it being gone here is DM, because I now can't go back and rummage out the bit where I said anyone who wanted to check me out could meet me at ATM conference and he replied clearly instructing me not to talk about that.  I listed because I thought he had and official role here.  Sigh.  DM you are a double-crossing slimy toad - no wonder you're in the MA Sleep

Re: the conference - why don't you message Andrew Jeffrey (you mentioned him before)?  He's been to at least one of my sessions before.  He could reassure you that in I generally focus on getting the participants to express their reasons for wanting to discuss the subject and work form there.  So in a session on maths discussion forums I would get people to express the kind of thigs they'd like to discuss and get answers to and then teach them some practical skills in using the appropriate forums.

Sure I tell stories, but why they heck would they be from this thread?  Nothing interesting was discussed, nothing was learned.  I'm interested in what has been discovered about maths education through discussion forums.  That's easy to believe if you bother to look.

Anyway I'm off back to read my favourite Christmas present:

    Crocheting Adentures with Hyperbolic Planes.

As recommended on one of the LinkedIn discussion forums.  It's fab.

    Dm maybe?

I'm an ATM member but "bat for the other side" (The Mathematical Association, a more discerning organisation).

Given that they use weebecka to give talks, could there exist a less discerning organisation.

It's definitely been deleted. It's in the search cache area, if you look up your own posts or something the thread is referred to, but linking to it returns a not found error.

I'm in a good mood today. My little  bro (I have 3 little bros but he is the youngest) has sent us a copy of his latest published article which he has written as part of his PhD and costs everyone 12 squids but I got free. Not bad for a lad from Chaucer comp.I just need to get the thesaurus out so I can read it.Geeked I am so proud of him :-)

Er, is the PhD on something which might be vaguely interesting or relevant to the conversation Moonpenny?

Send my congrats to little bro. It's not easy to get articles past peer review.

Oh go on Autismuk, do come to the conference.

If you say you will I'll even bring along some of dad's books/papers to entertain you.

    This one,

has a particularly fetching picture of Maggie dressed as a lion tamer on the front cover.......

"Poor Behaviour == Poor Teaching" thread has disappeared.

So why, why, would you seek to resurrect it again?

    DM:
If they were paying me £250 per day or so, I might consider it.

Well I can't offer that but I might be able to get you in for free as a nominated co-presenter if you like.  No need to prepare anything, just the option to interrupt if you felt I was misrepresenting TES or its contributors at any stage and of course to feed back to the forum here.

    DM:
I'm the Kate Moss of the mathematics conference scene, I don't get out of bed unless the money is right.

That would explain why I've never met you then!
