I'm not going.   I'm sure I have heard her full repertoire already.

    It goes:

    • I laid the cables so that they could have broadband in Jordan
    • Nothing beats breastfeeding
    • I sometimes struggle to comprehend my own brilliance
    • I don't like Ofsted inspectors very much (particularly when they are grading my lessons)
    • I crochet along to Flatland the Movie
    • I remained inspirational while suffering outrageous bullying at the TES
    • Here's a youtube clip that was randomly selected by a monkey
    • I wrote the facilitation rulebook
    • Mymaths is good for that
    • Did I tell you that I am adored internationally?
    • I might need a new husband soon

It's hardly surprising after the way she behaved on the forums. The pms were something else entirely for those of us on the receiving end.

I am therefore eternally grateful that I never received one.

Totally agree with OP. I'd also like to see the moderators simply cut any inflammatory posts, insults or pointless arguments. There's a place for that - opinion. Any other pointless banter in xbar.

I was right there with you until you objected to pointless banter (self-evident truth or oxymoron?). Banter has a point. It is intended to be amusing to the banterer and the bantee. If it sometimes misses the point, we can still all appreciate the effort to lighten up overly technical or earnest threads.

Betamale - you are one of very many posters whose contributions I enjoy (I know DM won't care one way or the other, but I value his stuff too!).  I don't always agree with everything you post, but then I probably disagree with things I posted a year ago.  That is all part of life.

    Thanks Nazard

I don't even agree with myself all of the time so I can fully understand that Wink

I am here for bettering education and learning from others despite an often rough style Yes

You'll be getting your forum back. Weebecka's been banned.

You clever girl. I bet you are so proud of yourself.

I'm glad that an unhinged bully who sent me vile and threatening pms has gone, yes.

I'm glad that a poster who questioned my mental health, my professional capabilities and my honesty for no reason other than I disagreed with her has gone, yes.

I'm glad that a poster who moved on to other innocent bystanders and was rude and bullying to then has gone, yes

I'm glad that someone who accused me of doing something to a long gone poster, to whom I never even spoke has gone, yes.

    not proud, no, glad .

I suspect you are possibly the only person who isn't glad. I wonder why?

Is anybody else wondering if she is who she says she is? Maybe the real Rebecca Hanson knows nothing about these contributions

Some people have public profiles, this person is one such. Why don't you try mailing them and asking?  I did that with someone and found out what I needed to know.  Of course in most cases here posters are anonymous and completely hidden. That is probably just as well although it can have unfortunate side effects.  The fact is, in cyberspace,   we can never know who "curlygirly" or "DM" or even jabed really are, although sometimes some posters may try endlessly to find that out or make unfounded accusations.

It seems sometimes though  posters who break the rules are not always the ones who get banned. Often its a case of those who report are actually the worst offenders in breaking  the rules they complain about others having broken.

Whilst I may not always like or agree with someone I would defend their freedom to say it but that doesn't always seem to be the case here.  I equally support the case put forward that there should not be this apparent discrimination between the  treatment of those who are newer and those who seem established.   The old guard may offer some stability but when they  prevent newer people bringing in ideas, because they do not like change,  then that prevents any kind of dynamic and the place becomes stale, as many forums have become very stale here.

This is a big cyberspace. There should be room for all.  Unfortunately some feel so threatened they cannot tolerate others or even ignore them. I hope this is sticking to the subject of this thread. I am not sure  quite what the thread is about.

I don't have a problem with new posters. I have a problem with bullies and those who threaten both on the boards and via pms.
