[I'm glad that an unhinged bully who sent me vile and threatening pms has gone, yes.

I'm glad that a poster who questioned my mental health, my professional capabilities and my honesty for no reason other than I disagreed with her has gone, yes.

I'm glad that a poster who moved on to other innocent bystanders and was rude and bullying to then has gone, yes

I'm glad that someone who accused me of doing something to a long gone poster, to whom I never even spoke has gone, yes.

    not proud, no, glad .

I suspect you are possibly the only person who isn't glad. I wonder why?

Of course none of that is inflammatory or untrue is it? Most of what you suggest sounds like a standard thread on TES these days.  How many posts  have I read which accuse others ( just because someone disagrees) of being "bam" or " mental" or " unhinged" or a "bully" ?

But lets conveniently forget how you went from thread to threat stalking this poster with all the above. I have seen it on so many threads concerning this poster. I  have no emotion concerning the banning of the poster concerned. I do have feelings of annoyance about the way in which you (and others I would have to say)  took your argument from thread to thread though. It was not just me who noticed that either. Several posters commented.

"Sit on it",  curlygirly.  (Cor how I have longed to say that[ H]). You will want me banned too no doubt.

I equally support the case put forward that there should not be this apparent discrimination between the  treatment of those who are newer and those who seem established.   The old guard may offer some stability but when they  prevent newer people bringing in ideas, because they do not like change,  then that prevents any kind of dynamic and the place becomes stale, as many forums have become very stale here.

I suspect this is what she'll be saying in her ATM session but IME the TES Maths forum has never been like this. Betamale is a realatively new poster and look how he's been welcomed!

I am not quite sure what you are suggesting. I hope its not that I am in some way "connected" to  weebecca. That is not the case. I am a completely different person and not connected to any other poster at all. I am only saying that because of the accusations that tend to fly around.

When I ( eventually) arrived at Maths with the genuine intent of discussing things mathematical, it was in the midst of the grand snipe. This reflected what I had witnessed on many other boards and I have to say I commented and said simply  mathematicians should be better than this. I did  get some reasonable replies but  I was immediately  jumped on for little or nothing,  accused of being something/ someone I wasn't, so I have not  received any welcome.

I have to say.Its with fear and trepidation now that I post anything.  If I see it calm down I might hit the "start a new thread " button and suggest something mathematical. However, reading here and other threads, I do know which posters I will be avoiding ( you are not included in my list).  I just think its such a pity that a valuable resource like this is being spoiled so by so many who want to carry their arguments from place to place.  It doesn't  seem to give anyone else a chance.

The problem with weebecka was, in my opinion, the discrepancy between what she posted, what she claimed, and what she reluctantly revealed about her teaching experience.

It may be one thing to fool those with little experience in teaching, but to try it on a regular basis with those who have been teaching in a variety of places for decades was optimistic at best and insulting at worse.

As time went on her posts become increasingly bizarre and obtuse, along with her pronouncements.

Her reasons for posting are her own and her behaviour on the forum may very well have been a deliberate attempt to get a certain reaction for whatever reason.

She admitted as much a couple of days ago on a thread that was pulled.   The line can still be seen in Google: "I think that i was important that as part of this process I be tested to close to breaking point".  No, I don't understand why either.

Ha ha.   That was unintentional but apposite.  The quote should read "I think that it was important ..."

Weebecca was the least of my concerns Karvol, although I agree  that some things did not seem consistent.  But I think many posters show similar inconsistencies.  My concerns were/ are with other posters who seemed intent in escalating issues and similarly seemed to be deliberately attempting to get some sort of reaction too or more to make statements  which were untrue in some attempt to just send people away or invalidate their contributions for some reasons best know to themselves. That I didn't think was necessary.

I agree with some of the points that Jabed has made on this thread. Weebs was not the only one at fault here. However, it does rather seem that she has been stringing people along in her virtual playground, all intended for the big talk at the ATM conference. I've never yet summoned the motivation to give up a holiday to attend one of those, despite the many who tell me how wonderful they are. Irrespective of the person involved, the fact that ATM think people would want to go to a talk on mathematics and internet chat rooms is quite beyond me. Still, I suppose it takes all sorts...

Well what's done is done jabed.   What was it you were thinking of starting a new thread about?   Maybe we could get our teeth into that (in a good way)?
